I just read an article about sex slaves on CNN.com. The article said that some girls are sold in to slavery as young as FIVE years old! That's how old my niece is. I can't imagine anything like that happening to her. I don't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to have sex with a child. It's just sick.

I'm an Auntie!

My sister-in-law gave birth to my second niece (her first child) this morning a little after three a.m. She was four pounds, ten ounces and eighteen inches long. Since she was born a little early her lungs are underdeveloped and she will have to stay in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for a couple of weeks. I was told that the doctor is pretty confident that she will be okay. I was able to visit her today. She is the most beautiful baby girl. I wish I could have been there when my other niece and nephew were born. They just grow up so fast.

I spent the new year at my in-law's house playing card games. It was pretty fun.

My new RAV4 kicks butt. For those of you who didn't know my tercel had NOTHING other than basics on it. This vehicle has keyless entry, electric door locks, windows etc. I can conrol the radio from my steering wheel, and I now have a CD player! My old car only had a radio and tape deck.

I just got back from CA, where I spent Christmas, Friday. It took me most of the day to recover from my red-eye flight. One of these days I'll have to find me a rich man to marry so that I never have to fly commercial again! I had a good time while I was out and was pretty busy this time. I did a lot of shopping with my mom, and went to several Christmas parties. My little sister and I went shopping for my matron-of-honor dress. (which reminds me that I need to be trying to lose weight now that it is after the "holidays") I got some not-so-great news from my dad when I got back. My step mom is having some pretty serious health issues. I have been asking people to pray for her.

Other than that I've just been trying to catch up on some housework. I have plenty of that to do!
